There seems to be no end to reports from land owners of motorcycles accessing their land and riding without permission - often on areas where motorsports are held and thereby threatening the future of access to the land.

Event organisers, clubs and the Scottish Auto Cycle Union (SACU) have been warning of this illegal riding for a number of years now but the problem still persists not only close to built up areas, town and cities but also in more rural and remote locations across the country.

The right to access the land with any motorised vehicle - and you should include in that the current and future models of electric bikes - lays solely with the land owner. They alone are the ones to give permission for anyone to access their land on any for of vehicle. In fact, in some cases where land is protected for historic or nature value even the landowner must seek approval from national level authorities to grant access to these areas.
