The 100/100/100 will

be back bigger and better. Don't miss it!

All of the booked riders came and completed their laps without incident. Some came from far afield including Gaynor Exley from Leeds coming over to the island for a pillion ride round the course!

As the event gained momentum more of the local community passed by the Grandstand to donate as did many other riders and tourists. The furthest from home was an Australian biker on a tour through Europe from his home in Australia. He joined a lap on the Friday adding a bit more value to his time on the island.

In the midst of it all a group of riders from the North East of England arrived at the Grandstand and were invited in for photos. Putting things into perspective, these riders were on the island for the weekend to scatter the ashes of one of their brothers on the mountain course as a final farewell. A very fitting and emotional tribute.

Our first lap on Saturday clashed with a road closure of the annual Parish Walk around the Union Mills area so a small detour through Strang was necessary on the 09:00 lap. Eagle eyed observers will see that deviation on the video. Although the walkers and their supporting convoy of cars were out throughout the day there was little in the way of disruption to the laps other than avoiding their occasionally erratic and very slow driving.

Full credit must go to the organsiers and their supporters. Steve Marsh, Alex Aitchinson and Jim Hunter, Dave Redmayne and the Redmayne family, Mary Rose Trainor (MRT) and so many others contributed to what became a weekend to remember on the island.

With the incredible success of this first running of the event there have already been calls to make it an annual entry on the Isle of man calendar. Plans are already being drawn up for 2020 and will be announced when the dates have been finalised.
