SMS Academy 2018 - 2019

THE FINAL SESSION OF THE 2018-19 SCOTTISH MOTORSPORTS ACADEMY FOCUSED ON BRANDING AND SOCIAL MEDIA FOR THE YOUNG RACERS

The final session of the 2018 - 2019 Scottish Motorsport Academy was held last week at the Sport Scotland HQ in Edinburgh.

Adon Dave (56N Racing) and Jack Hart both attended the session focusing on building their brand and career in racing in addition to media and social media related topics.

The Academy, now finished its second year, aims to develop young motorsport talent across all disciplines in Scotland on four and two wheels with sponsorship from 56N.

Previous sessions covered racing theory, working with a team, fitness, nutrition and brought in racing legends including Niall Mackenzie to talk about his experience in racing and developing young racing stars.

Adon Davie: “We’ve had a good day here in Edinburgh and have learnt a lot about the media, building a career track and what to expect from various social media platforms as a racer.

"The Academy has been a good experience for me over the past year and helped me understand some of the off-track demands and expectations in racing.

"It has also taught us to focus on studies and make sure we have a 'Plan B' if for any reason we cannot continue in a motorsports career.

"I think it has been a real eye-opener for us as we build our racing careers.”

The SMS Academy will be back again through 2019 - 2020.
