We Put the Sena to the test

Sena has become one of the go-to names for motorcycle intercoms over the past decade and have also made their mark with action cameras such as the 10c Pro. This is a combined intercom / camera with Bluetooth connectivity allowing the playing of music, making calls from a smart phone and playing FM radio. You can also link it to a suitable Bluetooth enabled Sat Nav for directions on the go.

In the box you'll get the camera unit, headphones for attaching inside your helmet, a number of fitting options including sticky pads (GoPro style) and a helmet clamp that is handy is you don't want it attached permanently to one helmet. There are also two microphone options, a boom mic type and a smaller, lower profile mic better used in closed full face helmets.

Fitting the helmet clamp is as simple as slipping it onto the helmet rim and tightening it with allen keys (provided). The wiring runs inside your helmet padding from the camera to the headphones and the mic.

The headphones are quite large and will take a bit time until you get the most comfortable fitting. That will depend on your helmet and the space available (if any) around your ears. If not fitted in a comfortable location they can cause some pain in the ears after use so take your time until you get the best fitment that suits you.

Wiring the mic is also very easy but try to keep it away from any vents on your chin bar to avoid too much wind noise and when using the mic close your vents to get the best audio.

We've been using the 10cPro for a lot of our videos recently and the quality is really good for all social media and video production. You can see some of them on our YouTube Channel. Overall we rate the Sena 10cPro highly as a combined intercom/ camera unit that gives good quality audio and video and reasonable battery life for long rides.
