The Honda C90 and monkey bike tour (oh, and one pit bike - rapid! , thanks Connor) was just a bit of fun with some grown up big kids (some of us bigger than the others). It was a few days to escape from the day-to-day grind and the ear bending of our girls.. "Bikes again?"; "how much for that part"; "four stroke what?" ...

Anyway, the idea came up a few years ago after one of our friends lost his stepfather in a tragic accident in the North Sea when the fishing boat Meridian was lost with all on board.

The C90 and monkey bike tour participants donned our helmets, jumped on our kickstarts and headed out Northwards from the quaint East Neuk of Fife to visit every fishermen's mission in Scotland, with the purpose of raising as much money as we can, whilst having a great time and enjoying a scenic NC500 tour. We raised over £10,000 for the liver transplant unit in Edinburgh and Marie Curie.

We organised further tours annually, which included, the Isle of Skye and Outer Hebrides, then the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. This year we ventured to North and Mid Wales for some stunning rides and bendy roads.

Starting out in Llangollen we spent 2 nights at a beautiful campsite called Abbey Farm. It was a mile or two out of the town, but again a beautiful Canalside walk was a refreshing break from the saddle. There was plenty to do in Llangollen and I wish we had a few more days there. We arrived during Llangollen Fringe Festival which looks like an excellent event but our schedule did not permit us time to fully enjoy the festivities. We did however have a nice bite to eat and a couple of beers by the falls.
