A
s we ring in the New Year, I’d like to make a toast to
55+ Living Guide Magazine celebrating 5 years! Many
thanks to all of our readers and advertisers, without whom
none of this would be possible. Thank you for believing in our
brand and for the ability to redefine your life no matter what
age. Redefining Life After 55 is just that; it’s a time to rediscover
what’s important now and how we want to age. An exciting
journey we can take together as we learn from each other and
the generations before, to us to be the best version of ourselves.
Whether you’re 55 or 75, it’s never too early or late to
redefine what matters to you, how you choose to live your life
and the people you want to live it with. The word aging has a
negative connotation to it, but it doesn’t have to. Sure, no one
welcomes the signs of aging but with age comes a sense of
contentment; of maturity. It’s freeing to not worry about the
things that felt like the end of the world in our more youthful
versions of ourselves. In a culture obsessed with youth, is it
possible that we’ve all been misled about what happens as we
age? Kathy Gottberg, blogger of Smartliving365.com and author
reminds us of the ways we get better as we age in her article;
10 Awesome Things I Know at 60 That I Never Knew at 30
(page 26).
Collecting memories, not things is what is truly important
so let’s make 2018 the year to create new memories that you
will cherish for years to come!
