1975 — BAYERN RETAIN THE EUROPEAN CUP , BEATING LEEDS UNITED 2-0 IN THE FINAL IN PARIS , WITH “ BULLE “ ROTH AND GERD MÜLLER GETTING THE GOALS .

Party chic : FCB celebrated in lederhosen for the first time in 1980 .
1976 — On the way to a European Cup hat-trick , the semi-finals feature a clash of giants . Bayern draw 1-1 in the first leg at Real Madrid , where Paul Breitner is now playing , in front of 111,000 spectators . FCB win the second leg 2-0 , with Gerd Müller scoring all of the Reds ‘ goals .
1977 — The end of an era . Franz Beckenbauer leaves FC Bayern to join New York Cosmos .
1978 — Things are not going well for FC Bayern in the league , cup and European Cup , but Gerd Müller is still crowned top scorer in the Bundesliga for the seventh time with 24 goals . At the end of the season , he also moves to the USA .
1979 — Led by Paul Breitner and Sepp Maier , the team rebel against president Wilhelm Neudecker . They want to prevent his preferred candidate , former 1860 player Max Merkel , from being appointed the new head coach . The revolt is successful . Merkel is not hired and Neudecker resigns . Uli Hoeneß becomes general manager of FC Bayern .
1980 — FC Bayern win the league for the first time in six years . The men from Munich are led by the brilliant duo of Paul Breitner and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge , known as Breitnigge . For the first time , we celebrate the title in lederhosen on the town hall balcony .
1981 — As in the previous year , Karl-Heinz Rummenigge wins the Ballon d ’ Or . Paul Breitner comes second .
1982 — In the final of the DFB Cup against 1 . FC Nürnberg , Dieter Hoeneß suffers a cut to his head in the 13th minute but plays on with a head bandage . Nürnberg are 2-0 up at the break , but FC Bayern turn the game around . The final goal in the 4-2 win comes courtesy of a Hoeneß header , complete with blood stained turban .
1983 — Udo Lattek replaces Pál Csernai and becomes head coach of FC Bayern for the second time .
1984 — LOTHAR MATTHÄUS IS THE FIRST NEW SIGNING IN FCB HISTORY TO BREAK THE ONE MILLION DEUTSCHMARK TRANSFER FEE BARRIER . IT TURNS OUT TO BE A GOOD DEAL . IN THE SAME YEAR , KARL-HEINZ RUMMENIGGE MOVES TO INTER MILAN FOR WHAT WAS THEN A RECORD FEE OF DM11 MILLION . IN ONE FELL SWOOP , FCB IS DEBT-FREE – AND HAS REMAINED SO TO THIS DAY .
1985 — Udo Lattek ‘ s team are young and lack big names , which makes it all the more surprising that FC Bayern top the Bundesliga table from the second to the final matchday and are crowned champions ahead of Werder Bremen . It is the dawn of a golden age . FC Bayern go on to become champions five times in six years .
1986 — On Matchday 33 , Werder Bremen are awarded a penalty against FC Bayern three minutes from time . The score is 0-0 and Werder have a two-point lead in the table . If Michael Kutzop converts the penalty , Bremen are champions . But Kutzop only hits the post . Four days later , FCB win , Bremen lose , and Bayern take the title thanks to their superior goal difference .
There it is : In 1974 , FCB won “ Ol ’ Big Ears ” for the first and by no means last time .
1987 — Udo Lattek wraps up his second hat-trick of titles ( after the 1972 , 1973 and 1974 championships ). With their tenth league title , FCB overtake previous record champions 1 . FC Nürnberg ( nine titles ).
1988 — After a lacklustre season , Lattek ‘ s successor Jupp Heynckes revamps the team . Stars such as Brehme , Matthäus , Michael Rummenigge and Jean-Marie Pfaff leave , while talents such as Olaf Thon , Stefan Reuter and Roland Grahammer arrive . The young team pull off the ” Miracle of Milan “ in the UEFA Cup round of 16 , when they beat Inter Milan 3-1 in the second leg after losing 2-0 at home .
1989 — In the first round of the DFB Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt , Klaus Augenthaler has the ball just inside his own half . He looks up briefly and takes a shot . After flying 49.50 metres , the ball dips into the goal behind Eintracht goalkeeper Uli Stein . Augenthaler ‘ s goal is voted “ Goal of the Month “, “ Goal of the Year ” and later “ Goal of the Decade ”.
1990 — SIX BAYERN PLAYERS ARE IN FRANZ BECKENBAUER ‘ S SQUAD FOR THE WORLD CUP IN ITALY . KLAUS AUGENTHALER , JÜRGEN KOHLER , HANS PFLÜGLER , STEFAN REUTER , OLAF THON AND RAIMOND AUMANN ARE CROWNED WORLD CHAMPIONS .
1991 — In the European Cup , FC Bayern reach the semi-final against Red Star Belgrade . After an unlucky 2-1 home defeat , the men from Munich are 2-1 up in the second leg with seconds to go , only for Klaus Augenthaler to score an own goal in the 90th minute . Auge retires at the end of the season , as one of our true greats .
