50th Anniversary Annual Art Auction Catalog | Page 5
Welcome to Anderson Ranch!
Welcome to Anderson Ranch Art Center’s 50th Anniversary Annual Art Auction
and Community Picnic. This is our largest community fundraiser of the year, an
event full of love and respect for the Ranch by all involved.
Your participation means so much to us as we recognize and celebrate our big
50th Anniversary milestone. When you bid on a work in the auction, you support
excellence at Anderson Ranch. Auction funds help to underwrite our workshop
and Artists-in-Residence programs, our outreach program, public programs such
Nancy Wilhelms as the Summer Series: Featured Artists & Conversations, the visiting artist
Executive Director program, scholarship programs and much more.
To all of the artists, galleries and collectors who have donated works, thank you. We are also grateful
to the many volunteers who share their time and efforts to bring the auction to you. Of course, our
incredible staff and interns make impossible things happen at every auction, and we heartily salute them.
To our Auction Committee, Artistic Directors and Board of Trustees, we thank you for your enduring
support.
Again this year, we are working with Paddle8, a website that enables you to bid from near and far on both
live and silent auction works. Thank you for supporting Anderson Ranch!
ENJOY THE AUCTION!
Warm regards,
Nancy Wilhelms

Represented in this year’s live auction are works by James Casebere, Wendell Castle, Charles Gaines,
The Haas Brothers, Ron Nagle, Trevor Paglen, Xaviera Simmons and Alec Soth, all of whom have made
work here as a Visiting Artist or shared their talents and inspiration with us as a Featured Artist (or both!).
Ceramist Takashi Nakazato, part of the Ranch family since 1994, has honored us with a magnificent work
that was created in our Visiting Artist studio and fired in our kilns.
