Middle Beast Crew Interview

For our launching event, we were supposed to entertain a dance performance by the Middle Beast Crew. A dancing team of 9 members. Starting from Jordan they've performed in several different countries and won 24 competitions. Here's the interview we had with them a couple of days before the event. Unfortunately, they couldn't attend due to an urgent complication, but we had a great time getting to know them!

How did you first meet and decide to form a crew?

Actually we met in 2009 we were two different crews and we used to battle a lot against one another, so one day we thought it will be stronger to become one united crew.

What do your families think about what you do? Are they supportive?

Our families didn't know that b-boying was so serious. At first they thought it was a small hobby that fills our free time, and after few years we started to travel around the world and go to competitions, so they did support us a little bit; but they still don't really feel and understand that it is our passion and want us to focus on a professional career for our future.

Do you get a lot of criticism?

We think criticism was the first thing that pushed us forward and we believe that "success is the best revenge" so we worked hard to achieve it.

How many hours a week do you train? And where?

We train 3 to 4 hours a day 4 days a week in Freeway Dance Studio

What do you do if a move goes wrong on stage?

We, as professionals, have our control on stage so if something went wrong we might know that it's wrong but we don't let the audience feel or see that. That's what matters most.

Are you enrolled at university? If yes, how do you balance between your crew duties and your studies?

Actually if you organize your time you can be a better person and we got that after our dancing experience so we still can do 4 or 3 more things in my day

What advice do you give to young teenagers who are hoping to pursue a career in dancing? Do you recommend any classes at a professional dance studio?

My advice for people who are hope to be good in this career is just to do it from the heart and keep the passion

What is it that keeps you going everyday, and reminds you to never give up?

Actually now it is a lifestyle i can't imagine myself without dancing i have this energy that should touch the floor
