Technical and sport features:
The Interamnia World Cup holds the following merits:
• Throughout the years it has managed to host in one location – Teramoup to 8,668 teams from 114 countries, with an average of 42 countries each year in the last 23 years. This makes up more than 54 % of the countries of the world and more than 74 % of all the countries where handball is played;
• It has always endorsed quality( rather than quantity). Since 1983, the most important protagonists have been:
a) Coaches, managers and athletes of national teams Under 21 from 54 countries representing the 5 continents for a total of 260 teams, of which 146 male teams and 114 female teams. Among these teams, the Organization also hosted the world champion male teams of the Soviet Union and Egypt, as well as the world champion female teams from the Soviet Union, Romania, Denmark, and Russia;
b) Coaches, managers and athletes from the most prestigious youth clubs in Europe. Among these clubs, 14 are European champions in the senior divisions, representing 9 countries, and 132 are clubs that participated in European Cups in senior divisions, representing 31 countries;
c) World handball celebrities( managers and coaches, as well as
internationally
acclaimed
athletes),
journalists,
reporters,
and
photographers;
• The Interamnia World Cup has also contributed to the following:
a) The growth of the referee class, by hosting to this day 2,957 referees from 72 countries of 4 continents;
b) The technical development of sport in countries where it is not taken into great account and where, thanks to the Interamnia World Cup, these countries have been able to be in the intercontinental limelight for the first time( only to mention a few: Afghanistan, Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Colombia, Congo, Costa Rica, Djibouti, Dominican Republic, Gabon, Ghana, Greenland, Guinea, Hong Kong, Honduras, India, Ireland, Kenya, Lebanon, Libya, Liechtenstein, Malta, Mongolia, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, New Caledonia, Palestine, Panama, Peru, Reunion, Tibet, Uruguay, Zimbabwe, Yemen.
c) It fostered the establishment of many other tournaments in the world. At the same time, it has helped increase the popularity of handball, by strengthening its image and credibility.
