2025 FACULTY AWARDS
The Academic Senate of Charles R. Drew University established the Outstanding Faculty awards to give recognition for excellence in research, teaching, community service, clinical education, and in all areas overall. The awardees were announced during the Outstanding Faculty Awards Ceremony and Reception held on May 7, 2025.
OUTSTANDING PROFESSOR Jorge N. Artaza, PhD, MS
Gives recognition for excellence in teaching, research, and / or community service. Each year, a distinguished faculty member of Charles R. Drew University is honored for their contribution to their students, their academic disciplines, and to their campus communities. Nominees for the Outstanding Professor award have a superlative record of teaching, research, and / or service to the community.
OUTSTANDING TEACHER Yufu Kuo, DC, MS
Recognizes faculty members for dedication in teaching in the University. Each year, one faculty member of Charles R. Drew University is honored for his or her track record of outstanding teaching contributions to the University that further the institution’ s mission. Nominees for the Outstanding Teaching award have an extensive record of positive teaching evaluations from students and peers of Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science.
