The Bagshaws arrived in
St.Lucia in the early
sixties, fell in love with
the island and never left.
In 1967, Sydney Bagshaws, a graphic
designer from Georgia designed the
Coat of Arms — the official seal of the
Government of Saint Lucia. The
emblem was made official at the Court
Buckingham Palace on January 8th,
1979.
The Tudor Rose represents
England. The Fleur de lis
represents France. The Stool Torch
represents Africa. The Parrots
represent Saint Lucia's National
Bird the Amazona Versicolor. The
Land, The People, The Light, is
Saint Lucia's Motto.
