Central
Estate
A heartland estate located in the Central region of Singapore with an
estimated population of 20,000. Central Estate has several dozen blocks
of government built HDB flats. A handful of new condominiums have also
sprung up in recent years.
With a sizeable population of older folks, this estate used to be a sleepy
neighbourhood. However, many younger married couples are moving into the
estate as the housing and walkways are upgraded.
There is also a sizeable Indian population living in this heartland. A Hindu
temple is located nearby and Little India is a short commute away.
