Singapore
A sense of call to be “the Antioch of Asia” has spurred the Body of Christ in
Singapore to a significant investment in regional and international missions.
Most international mission fields boast Singaporean workers, making
Singapore the 7th highest per capita sender of missionaries in the world. This
is something to be celebrated!
On the flip side, the percentage of Singaporean citizens and permanent
residents identifying with Jesus has remained at around 18% since the late
1980s and has declined in recent years. This figure does not include the 1.7
million foreign workers, coming mostly from nations like India and Indonesia.
The overwhelming majority of people in Singapore have chosen not to engage
with the Gospel in its traditional wineskins, and little progress has been made
in the past 30 years.
God wants to reveal Himself and answer the heartfelt longings of people in
every community across the nation.
