COASTAL FIRE MANDATORY EVACUATION ZONE SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED
Laguna Niguel , CA – On Friday , May 13 , 2022 , at approximately 3:00 p . m . the mandatory evacuation zone established in response to the Coastal Fire impacting neighborhoods located in the City of Laguna Niguel has been significantly reduced .
The City ’ s partners in public safety , the Orange County Sheriff ’ s Department ( OCSD ) and the Orange County Fire Authority ( OCFA ), have been successful with further containment leading to a reduction from 900 homes to 131 homes in the mandatory evacuation zone .
The updated evacuation map can be found at http :// ocsheriff . gov / coastalfire . Seven residential streets in the impacted area remain under mandatory evacuation until further progress can be made . The streets that remain under mandatory evacuation include :
• Coronado Pointe
• Vista Court
• La Vue
• La Fleur
• Le Port
• Via La Rosas
• Vista Montemar ( Residences at 71 , 72 , 74 , 76 , 78 , 80 )
Members of the public are encouraged to view the evacuation map regularly as it will be updated in real time . Any additional updates related to the Coastal Fire evacuation zone will be published on the OCFA twitter page , the City ’ s social media platforms , and the City ’ s dedicated Coastal Fire webpage at https :// www . cityoflagunaniguel . org / 1502 / Coastal-Fire .
Residents are encouraged to remain patient while returning to their residences . A Public Information Hotline Number at ( 714 ) 628-7085 remains available for those directly impacted by the Coastal Fire . Residents are also encouraged to contact a City staff member for assistance and resources by emailing lnfire @ cityoflagunaniguel . org or by calling ( 949 ) 362- 4300 .
A Temporary Care and Reception Shelter Center continues to remain open and is available for residents that have been impacted by the Coastal Fire , which is located at 29751 Crown Valley Parkway . The safety of residents is paramount , and the repopulation of impacted neighborhoods will continue to be a priority when deemed safe .
