Jasmine Richardson is Clarkdale Middle School’s Teacher of the Year for 2018-2019. Mrs. Richardson graduated from Lamar School in 2006 and Mississippi State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. In 2014, she earned a Master’s degree in school counseling from MSU-Meridian. She is married to Jake Richardson and enjoys sports of all types and spending time with family and friends. Clarkdale Middle School Fonya Crockett Scott is a science teacher at Clarkdale High School.  She received her B.S in Science Education from Jackson State University in Jackson, MS.  Intend- ing to persue a career in marine science, Ms. Scott studied at Duke University Ma- rine Lab (Beaufort, NC,) Virginia Institute of Marine Science (Gloucester Point, VA ) and Bermuda Biological Station For Research (now Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sci- ences, St. Georges, Bermuda).  The research career was cut short when Ms. Scott relocated to the Midwest. It was here she began her career as a high school sci- ence teacher in Jefferson Township High School, Dayton, Ohio. Fonya Scott is the mother of Aubrey Deion Scott, III an accountant with Pricewater- houseCooper in San Francisco, CA, and twins, Lauren I. Scott and Jason E. Scott, 2017 graduates of Clarkdale High School currently attending Jackson State Univer- sity. Ms. Scott is a member of Freedom Rock Christian Fellowship Church. She is involved in several community service organizations in Meridian. She is a 2018 graduate of the Citizen's Police Academy. As a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she serves as the chairperson of the educational development commit- tee for the Meridian Alumnae Chapter. Fonya serves as secretary for Gamma Chap- ter of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators. Ms. Scott has earned a M.S. in Science Education from Walden University. She has taught high school in Ohio, New York, Indiana and here in Mississippi.  As an educa- tor, Ms. Scott has worked at the middle school, high school, and college level. Clarkdale High School
