29 How long have you been making music? I’ve been making music my whole life. It’s been my outlet, the thing I’ve turned to when nothing else is Was there a particular moment in your life – which conϐirmed you had to make music? vol 2 :1 going right. The moment I knew I had to do music as a living was when it saved my life. Hitting my low in life, it kept me holding on. I was able to access family, friends and God through music. That’s when I knew, just as music helped me, I needed to help someone else with my own music. Who supports you to make music? From day one, the number one supporter has been my dear mama! Always providing positive support and helping me to believe in myself. Along the way I’ve been fortunate enough to have amazing role models/ teachers/friends/family who have guided me and helped me develop my craft. A few to name would be Godfrey De Grut and Stephen Matthews from University of Auckland, Uncle Tigilau Ness who let me play alongside him as a young boy, and my amazingly talented band who takes my visions to a whole other level. Big shout out to my big bro Malcolm Lakatani who helps me considerably in learning my Niuean heritage. 4/4
