THROWING LIGHT // 2016 – new year, new start, new direction.
Happy New Year everyone! Even though we’re at the
end of January, that new year feeling and positive
energy is de initely still in the air. Our 4/4 team are
happy to bring you our second edition, to start off
2016.
The Vodafone Paci ic Music Awards team are working
on the details for the 2016 awards. The awards
ceremony is our chance to come together as a family
and community, celebrate Paci ic music and showcase
our amazing artists. 2015 was a big year for new
music to be released – and we’re excited to see the
entries and inalists that will result from this. This
edition of 4/4 has more information on the awards,
interviews with 2015VPMA winners TJ Taotua and

Maryanne Ito. We’ve also talked with Marlaina Key
and Fred Wilson aka DJ Fresh about their world and
the work they do.
With 4/4 we want to throw light on our amazing Paci ic
arts community and the incredible work they do. I
want to encourage everyone to show their support
and love for the amazing Paci ic music and arts talent
out there. Purchase songs and albums, go buy tickets
to gigs and shows, visit your local art galleries, watch
locally made theatre and ilms - check out everything
that is on offer and support our Paci ic creatives! It
will enrich your life and you will also contribute
to sustaining our Paci ic arts community for the
