he museum which details
the history of the aromatic
beverage, the Coffee Museum
remarkably stands out in the tribal
settings of Araku Valley. The Coffee Museum houses a
souvenir store, craft store, snacks
bar, trampoline, cricket nets along
with the coffee’s discovery and
processing history hall.
The concept was developed and
created by a migrant to the Araku
valley, Prakash Rao. In 1930, he set
up a general catering service here,
primarily for tourists. Realizing the
uniqueness of the coffee produced
in Araku valley. Dhimsa dance form, popular among
the tribal, can be experienced live
here.
The coffee museum was set up close
to the Tribal museum.
It is a great place to hang out and
taste sumptuous coffee products.
Various coffee chocolates are must
try here along with hot/cold coffee.
The tour around the museum
reveals the history and types of
coffee predominant to Araku Valley
in the eastern ghats,the cultivation
practices predominantly by the
forest dwelling tribes and dates
back to centuries old practices
and also houses antiques coffee
processing practices and hardware.
