First in the world of combined cycle as Head of Operation and Maintenance , and later as Head of Control Systems Engineering , Communications and Cybersecurity for Cofrentes Nuclear Power Plant . Currently coordinating OT strategies among the several business of the company ( Thermal Generation , Nuclear , Hydraulics , Wind / Distribution / Smartgrids ).

We will see how renewable energy is bringing a lot of opportunities for the environment but also there are some questions that put cybersecurity in the center of attention . We will cover some aspects that owners will have to reinforce to build better relationships with technology providers and system integrators . Renewables technologies have a strong point in the reduction of installation and set up times versus conventional generation technologies , accelerating payback periods . However they are achieving so by giving continuous online support . Such support is not only for configuration but for monitoring too . Such need for continuous communications highlight the need of putting cybersecurity from the design , both in systems architecture and also SCADA software . And both functions ( access for configuration and for monitoring ) start to be covered from cloud environments , so that the need for cybersecurity involves equally to owner and companies giving support , from arquitecture , to prevention , detection and recovery areas .
