his country truly is favoured despite our
best efforts to make it uninhabitable, we are
still here. Uncomfortable, we are still standing. SMH! When you leave Nigeria, you
forget how inconsiderate we are as a people. Trust
me you are quickly reminded of this, within 5mins of
stepping off the plane from an international flight. I
know you must have heard this complaint a hundred
times already, but unless you have experienced it you
have no clue how bad it truly is. First the heat reaches
out to slap you in the face; Lol. I recently came back
from a long overdue vacation in the states and I was
shocked anew at how inconsiderate we are. After
clearing immigration, I had to go and get my luggage. While waiting in line to get my trolley to load
up my luggage, I was rummaging in my bag for the
trolley fee. All of a sudden this big burly guy man cuts
in front of me, trust me; I am 6'1 you go see me; lol,
"excuse me you clearly see me standing in line abi" I
said, then he moved and gave me back my original
position in line. Now this same man was standing
patiently in Atlanta airport less than thirteen hours
ago, but the minute he gets to Nigeria all common
courtesy and sense is out the window. I will save you

stop to apologize or even acknowledge their presence.
I guess because they were not driving a fancy car like
his they did not even exist in his consciousness. What

while in traffic, yesssssss, less than two feet from the
LAWMA employee who was sweeping the express
road. I guess she must be used to this kind of behaviour from motorists; she did not even pause to give
him the evil look or curse him out. She is a better
person than I; sha. He would have felt my wrath.
How people can be so insensitive and oblivious I
don’t understand. I gave him the evil look on her
behalf, though! He looked at me and just smirked. He
continued dropping more peanut shells on the floor.
Now what most people may not know is that Nigeria is one of the most fetish countries in the world.
The reason for this is not far-fetched. We hear the
most gruesome stories, fathers and mothers killing
or maiming their children, children killing parents,
siblings killing each other all in a means to get rich.
Some even trade their life span to be rich for only
ten more years and die after. Honestly do you blame
them? Look at the way we treat our poor and underprivileged. To be poor in Nigeria is a terrible thing
oh! The indignity inflicted on one is per second per
second, no break at all.
