Hungary
Érd
We have learned at the beginning of the
schoolyear that our Comenius project was
approved. Moreover, according to the plans,
we were the first country to host foreign
students.
Thus on 14 October 2013 Slovakian students
arrived to Érd. We learned together how to
re-use soap and paper on workshops.
We also went on a cultural trip to
Budapest – unfortunately the weather
was very bad, we all got soaking wet –
but it was a memorable experience.
During our cultural trip we have noticed
that there are no selective bins on the
streets, we couldn’t even found any of
them in the Castle District. However
there are several islands with huge bins
– but not at the city centre.
We have also visited the Museum of
Geography in Érd, where we learned
about famous travellers and then
saw some endangered
species at Tropicarium
as well.
On the last day we
launched the Time
Capsule – with a soap and piece of
paper made in our common
workshops and with some letters
about how life will be in 2025.
András T. Mészáros, the mayor of Érd and
András Aradszki, our MP and the member of
the Comittee on Sustainable Development of
the Hungarian Parlament joined our farewell
meeting and helped us to plant a tree in our
schoolyard.
