Friends of the Galena Library Pre-Owned Book Sale
JULY 18 – 19 @ 9 AM – 6 PM JULY 20 @ 9 AM – 1 PM GALENA MIDDLE SCHOOL ( 1230 FRANKLIN ST , GALENA , IL ) Join the Friends of the Galena Public Library for their Pre-Owned Book Sale on July 18 – 19 at 9 a . m .– 6 p . m . and July 20 at 9 a . m .– 1 p . m . at Galena Middle School in Galena , IL .
Thousands of books will be available including adult , teen , children ’ s , best sellers , classics , biographies , gardening , art , history , large print , mystery , travel , poetry , Western , science fiction , crafts , sports , pets , DVDs , CDs , puzzles , and audiobooks . The bake sale continues until all the baked goods are sold . Bring your own bag and receive a free book .
Proceeds from the sale are used towards subscriptions to Book Page , Flipster Digital Magazine , Ancestry . com and Axis 360 ; adult and children ’ s special programs , large print books , Playaway audio books , LitFest and the Galena Little Free Libraries . For more information , visit

Platteville ’ s Hometown Festival Week
JULY 20 – 28 VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN PLATTEVILLE , WI Platteville ’ s Hometown Festival Week is a flurry of activity celebrating the Wisconsin community . Let ’ s go over everything that ’ s happening on July 20 – 28 .
The festival kicks off on Saturday , July 20 with the Platteville Farmer ’ s Market at City Park at 8 a . m .– noon , Southwest Music Festival at 2 nd Street at noon – midnight , and Cruise In On Main at Downtown Main Street at 3 – 8 p . m . The music festival features the Adam Bartels Band at 1 p . m ., The Boy Band Night at 5 p . m ., and headliner Cherry Pie at 9 p . m . The cruise boasts cars , food , music , and 50 / 50 raffle and is free .
Next up is the Southwest Healthy ’ s Berry Fest at Legion park on Tuesday , July 23 at 4:30 – 7:30 p . m . Learn about healthy living practices plus enjoy food , games , prizes , and fun for all ages .
Wednesday , July 24 celebrates Katie ’ s Garden 20 th Anniversary at Katie ’ s Garden from 4 to 8 p . m . Live music by Shekinah King , kid activities , food , duck race , garden tour at 6 p . m ., and program at 6:30 p . m .
Head over to City Park on Thursday , July 25 for Party in the Park “ Salute to Volunteers ” at 5 – 6 p . m . plus free hotdogs while supplies last . Music in the Park follows at 6 – 8 p . m . with music by Ken Kilian ’ s Classic Big Band .
Friday , July 26 brings a Fish Boil to Trinity Episcopal Church at 5 – 7 p . m .
Saturday , July 27 brings back the Platteville Farmer ’ s Market to City Park at 8 a . m .– noon in addition to the Hometown Festival Art & Craft Fair at 8 a . m .– 2 p . m ., also at City Park . Enjoy music in the gazebo with Roy Schroedl at 9 a . m ., Echorus at 10 a . m ., Tristan Hirsch at 11 a . m , Lexi Healy at noon , and Tristan Hirsch and Kelsey Klar at 1 p . m .
The festival closes out on Sunday , July 28 with the Southwest Christian Music Festival at 1 – 4:30 p . m . Bring your lawn chair for this collaboration of church musicians .
