SCHOOL ( GALENA , IL ) Learn about the one-room schoolhouse and play some games like they used to in the late 1800s and early 1900s . Volunteer docents are on site and share stories of the 1859 limestone one-room schoolhouse . Laura Ingalls Wilder , portrayed by Tessa Flak , Director of the Galena – Jo Daviess County Historical Society , will assist in the Second Annual Spelling Bee and old-fashioned tugof-war . Flak worked at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Park and Museum in Burr Oak , IA as a tour guide and volunteered on the board of directors . Later she became the executive director at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society in De Smet , SD .
