MR LEE TUAN SEE
“ CTSS @ 33 YEARS: A SCHOOL ANCHORED IN MISSION AND VALUES”
Mr Lee is an active member of the Parent Support Group and School Advisory Committee, lending much support to the school programmes.
Hsu Wen is happily settled into the Junior College life. In her four years at Clementi Town Secondary School( CTSS), I witnessed how Hsu Wen blossomed from a quiet teenager into a self-assured young lady.
In my humble opinion, the school mission,“ To develop in every Clementeen, the passion to learn, the confidence to lead and the humility to serve,” has nurtured her into who she is today.
I have always been keen in education matters. Moreover, I believe strongly in“ being present” in my children’ s learning journey. I took an active role in CTSS Parents’ Support Group( PSG) and accepted the nomination to be a member of the School Advisory Committee( SAC). I am pleased to be able to contribute ideas and offer parents’ feedback to support the character development programmes and initiatives. With the PSG and SAC activities, Hsu Wen and I have more common conversational topics. We often debate on what makes a champion school and believe that a champion school is“ one that is progressive and student-centric” and that it“ delivers on its promises”. The Clementeens and alumni create it and all including parents, teachers and staff and the community feel the spirit of a champion school.
With the consistent holistic activities and perseverance [ part of the school’ s ASPIRe values ], I believe CTSS will become a champion school in the years ahead. These are some significant programmes and events:
•“ The Seven Effective Habits” programme that Hsu Wen was given the opportunity to facilitate. The school went the extra mile to tailor the workshops for parents and both the upper and lower secondary students.
• School Envisioning & Planning Workshops, School Carnival, Annual Teachers’ Day Celebration and Dinner, Aesthetic Concert, MOE Music Talent Development Centre( MTDC) for Choir Programme, public performances and Local and Overseas Chorale exchanges and Secondary One Registration Day( where Hsu Wen and I went on stage to encourage more parents to join the PSG and share our experiences in PSG activities like the Marine-Life Walk @ Sentosa).
I am honoured to have the invaluable opportunity to be a partner-in-education with CTSS and will continue to support the school programmes in the coming years.
“ Enriching!” A succinct word, when I asked Hsu Wen how she would describe her four years at CTSS.
