In the 1881 census Harry is living with his parents, Charles and Elizabeth, at 4, Clyde Street, Road.
Harry, their son is a joiner, like his father. By 1891, Harry and Hannah are living in their own house
at 185, Richmond Road, Cardiff. Harry is now a contractor man and some of the children are now
in school. By 1901 their fortunes must have increased as Harry is now a building contractor,
employing people, Harry Miles is a contractor’s clerk, Frank Oswald is a builder’s apprentice and
Walter Stanley is a shipbroker’s clerk. The older girls are at home, with no profession, and the
younger children are all in school.
