STEP 3 : MIND-READING
It ’ s the mind-reader ’ s job to guess what the other player has drawn . Here are some tips for when it ’ s your turn to do this :
1 . BODY LANGUAGE :
Ask the other player questions , keeping an eye on their face and body language when they give you answers . If they glance away or their mouth twitches , there ’ s a chance they ’ re lying ! Do they tap their pencil when you mention a certain shape ? Do they scratch their nose ? All these observations could help you guess the right answer . Of course , the best observation of all is if you can see through their paper .
2 . GUESSWORK :
If you ’ re struggling , you could always just guess a shape . After all , there are only three to pick from , so there is a 1 / 3 chance that you might be correct !
3 . SNEAKY SET-UP :
For one of his mind-reading tricks , Harry Houdini is said to have hidden wires all over a house , so someone in the basement could secretly tell him what his audience were saying to each other ! In your game , one player could hide a mirror behind the other , to see what ’ s being drawn . They could even get another friend to peek at the paper , then pass on subtle hints about the answer ! This is a risky approach , and it ’ s one you might want to look out for yourself when it ’ s your turn to draw . If a player gets caught doing this , their reputation among magicians could be ruined forever … but it ’ s a big point-winner if it can be pulled off perfectly !
Of course , when it ’ s your turn to mind-read , try not to make it obvious you ’ re using any of these methods . You want to come across like a powerful magician , so remain confident and don ’ t forget to wiggle your fingers in a theatrical way !
