WORDWORM ’ S MISSION

Wouldn ’ t it be wonderful if you could select a bunch of your heroes to dine with ? Well , with this activity you can ! Have a think about your favourite people from history ; those people you ’ ve never met but would love to be friends with – writers , explorers , scientists , astronauts – DEAD OR ALIVE ! Perhaps you ’ ll choose people that were born in a different century , or who live on the other side of the world . Maybe you ’ re intrigued by a fictional character and would like to know more about them . Think about books you ’ ve read and really loved – do you feel like you ’ d love to meet that author ? What would you talk about ? What would you disagree about ? What would you like to say to them , if you got the chance ?

GET STARTED

STEP 1 :
Choose between two and six guests ( depending on how many chairs you feel like drawing ) and finalise your guest list ! Draw a dinner table with the appropriate number of chairs ( don ’ t forget to include
yourself ).
STEP 2 :
Next , begin your research and write down what connectors you ’ d have . Why would they make a good friend ? Could you teach each other anything ? You might discover that you have more in common than you knew . You could also consider how your guests would get on with one another – would there be any arguments ? Would it be interesting and entertaining , or annoying and noisy ?

o A trip to the library or supervised internet access
