Course Name: Applications of Corrections Type of Course: Elective Course
Available to: 11th and 12th grade Prerequisites: Criminal Justice Essentials( 74 %+)
Description: This is the third course in the Corrections Services Pathway. It is designed to provide students with an analysis of the American Correctional System and practices, including history, procedures and objectives. Topics include the history and evolution of correctional facilities; legal and administrative problems; institutional facilities and procedures; probation, parole and pre-release programs; alternative sentencing; rehabilitation; effects and costs of recidivism; community involvement; and officer safety; and staffing. Students who successfully complete this should be prepared to take an End of Pathway Assessment( EOPA) to be able to earn an industry-recognized credential.

Description: This course is the foundational course for the Engineering and Technology pathway. This STEM driven course provides the students with an overview of engineering and technology including the different methods used in the engineering design process developing fundamental technology and engineering literacy. Students will demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have learned through various project-based activities while using an engineering design process to successfully master the“ E” in STEM.
