Course Name: Entrepreneurship Type of Course: Elective Course
Available to: 11th and 12th grade
Prerequisites: Legal Environment of Business( 74 %+)
Description: This is the third course in the Entrepreneurship pathway. This course focuses on recognizing a business opportunity, starting a business, operating and maintaining a business. Students will be exposed to the development of critical thinking, problem solving, and innovation in this course as they will either be the business owner or individuals working in a competitive job market in the future. Integration of accounting, finance, marketing, business management, legal and economic environments will be developed throughout projects in this course. Working to develop a business plan that includes structuring the organization, financing the organization, and managing information, operations, marketing, and human resources will be a focus in the course. Engaging students in the creation and management of a business and the challenges of being a small business owner will be fulfilled in this course. Various forms of technologies will be used to expose students to resources and application of business principles for starting, operating and maintaining a business. Professional communication skills and practices, problem-solving, ethical and legal issues, and the impact of effective presentation skills are enhanced in this course to prepare students to be college and career ready. Employability skills are integrated into activities, tasks, and projects throughout the course standards to demonstrate the skills required by business and industry. Students who successfully complete this should be prepared to take an End of Pathway Assessment( EOPA) to be able to earn an industry-recognized credential.

Course Name: Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps
Description: Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps( AJROTC) is one of the largest youth development programs in the country with a mission to develop citizens of character. This program, which spans from two to four years, is available to high school students in grades 9-12. It offers a flexible, blended curriculum that allows students to join at any point during their high school journey and has been part of Cobb County since 1970.
AJROTC aims to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, build character, and develop self-discipline, all while providing instruction in air and space fundamentals.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO MILITARY OBLIGATION ASSOCIATED WITH TAKING HIGH SCHOOL AIR FORCE JUNIOR ROTC AND NO UNIFORM REQUIREMENT FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS.
Students who successfully complete the AJROTC course will receive academic credit applicable towards graduation requirements. Depending on the course level, students will learn various life skills, such as understanding the impact of weather, career selection, project management, training in chosen career fields, college admission and financing, and American civics. Additionally, students will enhance their leadership and management skills through the study and practice of responsibility and teamwork, learn orderliness and precision through drill and ceremonies, and understand the role of public service in American society.
Note: * 3 units of AJROTC will waive the Health and Personal Fitness graduation requirements.
