and we developed a great songwriting friendship and enjoy
each others company and we’ve written 10 songs together.
Everyone is moving to Nashville.
It’s not just a country scene anymore. It’s become a music
hub. Some of the best session people around are down there
playing on all sorts of albums making great music and some
of the best songwriters in the universe are down there. It’s
amazing, and John opened me up to it. I do over 200 shows
a year but in the small windows, I try to get down there.
I’m seeing a lot more solo performers with guitars the
last year.
It’s always been there and always will be. It’s a powerful way
to communicate art to another person and there are a lot less
logistics to tackle. I have to tell you it doesn’t compare to
with my band. I’m lucky enough to play with 3 of the most in-
credible musicians I know. Great people to be playing music
with.
The song “Let Your Hair Down” with all of the people
who at the time had or survived cancer caught me off
guard last night.
We were really excited about the song and doing a video
for it and the success we have achieved has come from this
grass roots community surrounding or music and a huge mis-
sion of our band is giving back in various ways. Small com-
munity has the power to change the world. We were looking
for an idea that represented the spirit of not only us but the
people we surround ourselves with. Over the years I had
