Lubbock, Texas after about 6 months of trying to learn on my own.
Chris took me under his wing and played an important role in the
formation of my foundation. I have learned so much from my men-
tor, and I am eternally grateful for his guidance and leadership.
You seem pretty well rounded and comfortable with many
styles. In a time when people are pretty much “specialty” art-
ists in black and grey, traditional, neo trad, etc do you feel this
helps or hurts you?
I have tried to hone my craft in many different styles, not because
that’s what I had planned, but because that is what I am comfort-
able with. There was a point in my career where I did a ton of wa-
tercolor style, and to be honest, I got burnt out pretty quick. I’ve
tried to stay within the bounds of one of two styles, and I have felt
myself get bored pretty quick. I love being able to do full color one
