started working with DJ’s and went to Tokyo etc but I thought every nightclub needs a DJ but a singer is an added expense so I started DJing. That was the best thing I ever did because it allowed me to share my music and I feel so much more connected to the music scene in general. I get to listen to so much music and know what’s going on and it helps me with my music too, plus I could just pick up and do a show by myself. I can perform sometimes DJing and singing. Just as a singer and also just as a DJ. I just did a song with these Brazilian DJs called the Cat Dealers which has over 2.5 million streams on Spotify. I just did another song with a DJ trio. I don’t know what it is with Brazil but they love duos and trios. The trio is called Audax. I did something with Alex Ramirez which isn’t out yet. Do you ever feel like you’re doing so much that you’re so spread out and not giving 100% to any one thing? That’s interesting because I think it did hurt me in some ways be- cause back in the day they couldn’t wrap their heads around it. “So do you sing, do you act?” and I would say “I do both! You can’t have more than one skill?” I think they felt like serious actors should only do the one thing but now the more you can do the better. You want to be a brand. So not now, but there was a time where it was a struggle. The entertainment industry is a bitch. It ebbs and flows and some- times you can’t not book something. You book everything and you go on. Other times, you just don’t, you get close and it just slips away or you lose out because they want a blonde. I’ve had extreme highs and extreme lows and everything in between, so for me, I’ve never had a job outside of entertainment and I think I have been able to do that because I have different skills so sometimes when the acting wasn’t acting as much but my music was crushing it!
