Aside from traditional painting and tattooing, what made you get into painting cars/trucks? Honestly I just really thought it would be a cool idea to paint something that everyone could see. Most of the time your paintings end up going into a house of the person who bought them. It definitely seems like the artwork only really gets seen selectively by the individual who either sees the piece in the house and asks about it, or by the owners. I have just always felt like what makes art come to life and actually have an impact on people is people seeing it in the first place. The cool thing about making cars into artwork is that so many people get to see it and comment on it and it can literally be about anything that you want it to be. In this case I have always done things that used to be really dorky when I was a kid and honestly things I used to get picked on for liking. When I used to play Final Fantasy as a kid people always used to say, “ what do you not have any friends? Do you like hang out in your mothers basement and play video games all day and never leave the house?” Which is just a silly misconception but it definitely was not the cool thing to do just like Star Wars was dorky and comic books were too. It’s kind of gratifying as an adult to paint an entire car with Batman and Final Fantasy and have people come up to you absolutely loving it. How many cars have you painted in total to date? The Star Wars truck will be my 5th or 6th actual full car that I’ve painted. From time to time I end up doing a motorcycle tank or two. 127
