and he said I hate you and as far as I’m concerned you’re dead to
me. So we started Revolt. We didn’t get any help from him or any
love from him, he didn’t give us shit. As far as he was concerned, he
was gonna take as many people as he could that we had already
done over there. He was like we don’t know where Joey is, we don’t
know where Walter is, they left town, they’re out of here, we’ll do
your tattoos, that kind of shit, as far as I’m concerned we don’t have
a bridge. I worked for him for 13 years because I’m a loyal artist. He
doesn’t want to give you raises, no bonuses, but he’ll take everything
he can from your success. He’ll flash your mug on the strip or put your
face in a magazine, design all the shirts, and take all the money but
doesn’t want to give anything to the people who actually did it for
him. I don’t want to start a war here but that’s how it was.
Do you paint at all?
No. I wish I would love to. I have 3 little boys 10, 9 and 3 they take up
my entire life. I just try to work by day, and go home and spend my
time with my family. Opening the shop has been really difficult because I spend 6 days a week there and I’m booked out till May/June
and I don’t have any freakin’ time. If I had it to where I had 3 days off
i would find the time to paint and I would really love it, but I just don’t
get a chance.
Now that you’ve done two seasons and worked with some other
great artists, have you picked up any little things to add to your bag
of tricks?
Oh, of course! I’ve changed some inks, changed machines, I’ve
changed my layout. I think any time you work around other people
and they’re really good on the fly you have to see what makes them
tick. I think you’re silly if you don’t. Doing two seasons and working
with these people, I mean, I was looking over Sarah Miller’s shoulder,
and I was like man, I had to see what made her tick ..
And Halo is quick.
When we did the convention challenge in the first one we had to
many as we could and nobody knew anybody, everybody was nervous, and I was right next to Halo and I looked at his portfolio when I
