I’ve been threatening to interview you for a long time and always get distracted, but I just saw another painting on Instagram and thought right now is the time before another year goes by. You’re from Australia but occasionally make it to New York and your take on the city is amazing. Your New York paintings are amazing. What is it about New York that works for you? It’s the overall energy of it, i think. I try explaining this to people often. I think people who live there or have spent time there understand. I’ve traveled a bit and there really is no place like it. What brought you to Bushwick, Brooklyn to paint? I come back to NYC to touch base with friends and the gallery I’m working with. Bushwick has a lot of studios, cool bars and people to offer so I based myself here. It also has a distinct smell - which just drew me in. Haha. Thats a joke.
