was worse than what he was saying on the phone . Seeing a strong person like that being brought down that way by this fucked up condition is an eye opener and I went back to Miami and his mom called me and said it would do him good to come down again and she would buy the ticket . It was a good surprise for him and on that visit he ended up getting hospitalized and he asked me to come to Texas for a while , try it out , and there will at least be another TV personality at the shop and kinda fill in for me a little bit so I couldn ’ t say no .
So how do you like it there ? Texas is awesome . Clint built a tattoo church out here . The shop is beautiful , one of the most beautiful shops I ever stepped foot in . All the artists are really cool and everyone has worked together for years so it ’ s like a family . There ’ s a lot of white folks her ( laughs ) as opposed to Miami , so it ’ s great for tattoos . I ’ m part of the Sparrows family .
So what are your future plans ? Another grey wash set ? As far as my career goes , I ’ m trying to hone my realism skills a little more . You have artists like Sarah Miller who is killing it . I admire her work , always have , and her work ethic . I ’ m also getting back into my freelance comic book drawing , that ’ s one of my strong suits and I want to get back to actually telling stories . That ’ s where my heart is and it ’ s a really good time to be a comic book fan . I ’ m also putting my voice reel together so I can some voiceover work .
That ’ s awesome . I ’ m trying to branch out . Being a tattoo artist is like being in LA and the waiter turns out to be an actor . Most tattoo artists have multiple talents . Artists who play the guitar , artists who play drums and this and that and my other thing is comic books , telling stories , acting and anything that lands in that umbrella . Tattooing is a great jump off point for all of that . And there ’ s always the possibility of me doing more TV ( laughs )
