go either one of two ways.
It can make people respect
you for doing well in that
little time and it can also
make people underestimate
you and think if you act as if
you’re confident in what you
do then you’re almost naive
in a way and not experienced enough.
Did Sketchy Lawyer actually believe some of the
shit he was saying or was
he trying to fuck you up?
(laughs) I love Sketchy because he’s so much fun to
argue with. We never really saw eye to eye but we knew that if he said something to me that I didn’t
agree with he knew I would come back at him, but it was always fun, it was
engaging in a way after it was “good job buddy, that was good” no hard feelings. All the time afterwards we would hug each other and “no hard feelings,
I got you.” I love him, he’s just a little shit sometimes.
Playing the game.
He wanted to play the game. He likes to press people’s buttons and after a
while he knew where all my buttons were.
At conventions, going down the Ink Master isle, especially the first
four or five seasons, everyone just gravitated towards each other and
welcomed the new ones in as if they were survivors of something like
a horrible bus crash or they had been through something.
I think going through what you go through filming that show is such a bizarre
and special experience because we know that nobody else but us knows
what it’s like to be in such a..what it’s like to live in that house so when you
meet somebody who knows what it’s like and understands, you immediately gravitate towards them and have that kind of bond right off the bat.
