Split. (Laughs)
If someone came up to you and asked, “Who is Quantum Split?” How
would you answer that question?
AA: I would say we are four different individuals who came together to
create a unique sound.
SL: We also feel like the world should be badass; within themselves.
We’re a group of people who believe that everybody has a strength and
has a dream. So you just can’t be punk ass about it. You can’t be like “Yo,
I’m not going to do this because I’m scared.” That’s what the music is
about. Also, we believe in unity. All this stuff about racism, sexism, people
not talking to each other because of culture…we forget we’re human be-
ings with beating hearts. We’re spreading the love and unity. We’re not
being all sensitive about it, of course because we’re a rock band. At the
same time we’re trying to teach people no matter who you’re in front
of, they’re living life too. That’s a person, that’s a human being in front
of you. They feel, they have emotions, they go through it. So this whole
judgment thing that people have been doing…I’m not with it and the
band’s not with it. We’re about unity and love and having the courage to
be badass.
AR: I’m going to tell you who we are not from our own words but from
people that we’ve met. We’ve been on tour for a while now. We’ve been
to Ohio, Arizona and LA. These are words from the audience and even
from the sound guy. Everywhere we go all they say is:
“The best band I’ve ever seen live” “The best performance I’ve seen”
Old crowd, young crowd, it’s just the feedback we’ve been getting so far. I
can tell you who we are but that’s from people who have actually seen us
versus you hearing it from one of us. I’m just telling you what we’ve seen
and what we’ve heard. That’s pretty much all I can tell you right now.
