problems. So this guy goes up to him and is like “This band needs another
guitarist.”
AR: So I’m talking to this guy and he’s telling me about the band. At the
time I had already been in a lot of projects and I wasn’t really feeling it.
Honestly I was just trying to do my own thing. I put on the video on You-
tube and saw her with the combat boots and skirt, singing and it changed
my mind.
SL: He was like “Damn girl those legs! We gonna make it, we’re gonna
make it because of those legs!” (laughs)
AR: Nah, that’s what I really said though. (laughs)
SL: You know what’s crazy? He came from the Bronx to Long Island with
like two sandwiches. He thought we were going to starve him. He had no
idea what he was coming into. He was like I’m going to pack some food
just in case because I don’t know who these people are. So time flies and
I’m like this guy’s cool, he’s ok at guitar. We’re gonna keep him. Then we
go through another like four bass players. Bass players are funny people.
I’m not going to get into that but they’re funny people. So we see Ivan. He
got recommended by another friend. We’re going through his Facebook
at night like, “Yo this man has a six pack, he’s lit and we’re going to try to
bring him in.” So he comes to Long Island but we had a different meet-
ing. We were tired of people coming in and out of the band. The thing
about bands, you go through trials and tribulations just to find the right
people. It’s not like you’re going to find people and they’re all like, “Yeah
we’re going to take over the world” because people get scared. People
get scared of accepting their greatness and I’m an impatient girl. So if you
think you can’t do it I’m going to believe your ass and say you can’t do it.
I’m going to be like…bye. So Ivan comes in and I’m like I’m going to scare
this guy’s balls off because I’m tired of people coming in and out thinking
