So right off the bat let’s explain to people who you are and what you do. I’m a general practitioner medical doctor on the lower east side of Man- hattan. I have a community style kind of practice. Anybody who walks in I try to help and they pay what they can pay. I don’t take any insurance. I’m a conscientious objector to insurance because it’s kind of like apartheid that has to be dismantled and not repaired. You don’t change apartheid by changing the size of the ID cards. Private for profit healthcare needs to go. We can do it too. It’s a fifty year plan but it can be done. We should have national health care obviously. It’s unAmerican and unpatriotic not to have it. It’s a big wet blanket over our economy just to make a few peo- ple wealthy. It’s really stupid. 60
