1965

EF is founded in Sweden by Bertil Hult . He brought a group of Swedish students to Brighton , England . The idea was simple — they would learn English while traveling on holiday .

1978

EF becomes truly global , establishing itself not only in Europe and North America , but also in Mexico and Japan .

1988

EF is the official Language School of the Seoul 1988 Summer Olympics , EF ' s first of many Olympic appointments .

1997

EF China welcomes its first of millions of students learning English , opening English centers across the country .

2003

Hult International Business School is founded by EF and today is proudly recognized as the first triple-accredited business school in the U . S .

2005

Our unique blended learning method , is launched , going on to win various prestigious academic awards over the years .

2008

EF assumes ownership of Marymount College , New York . EF is the official supplier of language training services for the Beijing Olympics .

2009
