The result contains some changes in comparison to the first draft . Nevertheless , on the basic of the first concept could be built on . The only entrance from the street space into the building belongs though the stable door . A small protruding vestibule with a room height of 2.10-meter works as thresholds and increases the spatial experiences when entering the stable . Through the opening in the ceiling , visitors experience the entire spatial structure of the stable . Additionally , the gallery enables the spatial connection of the ground floor and the upper floor and creates new visual axes . Two staircases connect the different levels of the stable and building culture spaces , which is located in the former living spaces of the Schuhmacher ’ s house . The building culture room consist of exhibition spaces , which are related to the surroundings of the centre . For instance , the exhibition in the rooms with the view on the industry thematises the development of the industrial area of the past and the future . Therefore , the visitors have three images of the industry in the room , the historical one on photos and plans , the current one in the window and a proposal for the future also on plans . To enable visitors to influence the proposals for future settlement development , the exhibition on the top floor is interactive . The permanent exhibition about building culture is connected on every level with the stable . This allows visitors to stroll through the entire building and discover the house as if on a journey .
Additionally , larger windows were implanted in the extension to discuss the topics scale and the new technologies possibilities nowadays comparison to the past . Another focus lays on the different external spaces , like the boulevard and the green world . The only way from the street to garden goes through the extended stable . Therefore , the stable works like a catalyst . On the other side of the buildings lays the informal garden with threes , shrubs , vegetable beds and an outdoor café .

For larger events , the multifunctional room on the upper floor of the barn offers many possibilities . At the same time the space can be divided with curtains in to two spaces , namely the existing stable and the extension . The theme old versus new influences the project on the conceptual and materialisation level . The addition of the stable differences from the existence in the cladding of the façade , on the rooftiles and in the kind of wood .
