Background of SI Malaysia
SSEAYP International Malaysia
The history of SSEAYP International Malaysia's establishment started as early as the 1980s. Former
youth athlete youth exchange programs in Southeast Asia / Japan since 1974 have long been
active in assisting the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) for youth exchange programs, especially for
Southeast Asia Youth Ships in Malaysia.
After several years under the umbrella of the Malaysian Youth Council, the Southeast Asian /
Japanese Youth Ship Association or its abbreviation SI Malaysia was registered under the Societies
Act under the Registrar of Societies. To date our membership has grown to more than 1,400 people.
Members of KABESA / SI Malaysia comprising former ex-SSEAYP (ex-py) participants who are directly
registered as members after completing the program.
