DameDismember Art
With a complex method of consruction that is intricate, spectactularly confronting and unlike anything seen on the streets of Sydney, Dame Dismember has achieved a status amongst both her peers and lovers of street art alike that that sets her apart from others.
There can be no doubt her unique style has made her a Mistresses of Paste Up both here and abroad.
When recently interviewed for the 2095 StreetArt Blogspot, Dame Dismember indicated much of her inspiration is drawn from her 'ennui of work', electronic music and old b&w photography magazines amongst others.
The beauty of her work is that even while assembling, even she, as the artist, has no true vision of what the final result will be until it presents itself, which for streetart hunters is the best prize of all: the unexpected.
While not necessarily restricted to paste up, Dame Dismember's art is an absolute must-find and, as with most street art works that are subject to the elements, each fade, each tear, each droplet of rain simply adds to what is an already hypnotic and hauntingly beautiful piece of work.
