The change of our lives
In the last years, there has been an important improvement in our technology. One of the most important
changes we have witnessed is robots. They are very useful and have been helping us since they appeared in
our lives. We couldn´t have gotten this far without them. If we continue improving their skills, will robots
continue making the world a better place?
Firstly, robots are able to work really fast. They are able
to do the math in very difficult scientific equations. For
hundreds of years we struggled with problems such as
string theory, but thanks to the quick math of robots they
were solved. Because of the ability of solving equations
really quickly, robots helped find a cure for several big
diseases. In the beginning of the 21st century there was
one major disease in the world named cancer. Just like the
Black Death in the 14 th century, it destroyed millions of
lives all over the world. Thanks to the calculations that
robots made, the cure for cancer was found faster.
Not only do robots think very quickly, they can also work
much more efficiently than humans. The amount of casualties at work has been reduced by 89% over the
past 5 years. Robots are replaceable and
therefore it is safer to use them for work with
a risk of injury. Also there will be an increase
of efficiency in labor. Robots do not need to
eat and they do not sleep. They do not have to
be paid either. Therefore we can put a big
amount of robots in a factory and let them
work for twenty four hours a day.
On the other hand, recent studies showed that
in the last 3 years 48% of our jobs have been
replaced by robots. The people that have been
replaced do not have a job anymore. Also
robots can be hacked by someone to cha nge
their tasks.
But it does not have to be true because during the industrial revolution a very high percentage of jobs in
factories was eliminated as well, and now we enjoy an infinitely higher quality of life then in the 18 th century.
In conclusion, robots have made the world a better place so far. And they will be able to help us even more
if we improve their skills. Because of their abilities to cure diseases and work more efficiently they will make
our lives much easier. Even though robots take our jobs, it will end up being a good thing, just like with the industrial
revolution.
