The Edmond J. Safra Movement Disorders Research Career Development Awards
Supported by the Edmond J. Safra Foundation, this initiative invested in Fellowship alumni as they developed their research careers. During its two years, the program awarded four $ 50,000 grants to early-career investigators— two in 2022 and two in 2023— based on scientific promise, a clear path to independent research and the potential to advance research.
These investigators continue to lead collaborative, patient-centered studies in Parkinson’ s and related disorders— work that accelerates their careers and positions them for future funding from government agencies and partners like MJFF.
The inaugural 2022 awardees— Conor Fearon, BE, MB BCh BAO, MRCPI, PhD, and Anne Weissbach, MD— shared final reports on their projects in May 2025. The final two awardees presented their research outcomes in 2026. Summaries appear on the opposite page.
