Lily Pond Park Renovation— Otsego is moving forward with a renovation of Lily Pond Park, with construction potentially starting later this spring. The plan calls for modernized park amenities, improved accessibility and full park usability. The project, costing about $ 576,600, aligns with a $ 580,000 Capital Improvement Plan allocation. The playground component is expected to cost about $ 174,900.
Comprehensive improvements include a new playground( two separate areas for ages 2 – 5 and 5 – 12), accessible surfacing and transfer points; resurfaced tennis courts with pickleball lines; a new half-court basketball court; ADA-accessible parking and improved trail resurfacing; landscaping and a screened restroom enclosure. An optional zip-line feature could be added if bids come in under budget. Public input indicated strong support for new

Prairie Park Improvements— Design work for Prairie Park’ s Phase
1 improvements was approved by the City Council on March 9. Phase 1 focuses on the park’ s central area, including a new destination playground with accessible equipment and a zipline, an open-air pavilion with restrooms and concessions, ballfield improvements, expanded parking, trail and sidewalk upgrades, and prairie restoration. Design will continue through 2026, with construction bids expected in early 2027 and construction anticipated to begin in spring 2027. The project is estimated at about $ 7.8 million and could be completed by fall 2027. Additional public input opportunities will be offered as the process proceeds.
