technology, and opportunities that keep them healthy, engaged, and independent in the communities they call home.
Through Thryve, older adults and their families can access educational events, caregiver resources, wellness check-ins, and meaningful social experiences. From expert-led presentations and community gatherings, Thryve offers a variety of ways for participants to learn, connect, and share. Programs are designed to meet individuals where they are— whether someone is looking for practical tools to support daily life, guidance for caregiving challenges, or opportunities to meet new people and engage with the broader community. The goal is to equip individuals to navigate life’ s different seasons with confidence.
Thryve continues to foster connections across Sherburne County and Wright County by collaborating with local organizations, senior centers, and community groups to bring resources and programs directly to where people gather. These partnerships help bridge gaps, making it easier for older adults to access the right support at the right time. Programming and events often spark a ripple effect: participants frequently share what they’ ve learned with neighbors, friends, and family members who may also benefit from the same support, helping extend the reach of Thryve throughout the community.
Staying connected is at the heart of Thryve’ s approach. Many older adults— particularly those living in rural areas— experience isolation due to transportation barriers, health changes, or distance from loved ones. Thryve creates opportunities for connection through both in-person and virtual programs, helping individuals stay engaged with their community and maintain meaningful relationships.
At its heart, Thryve is about helping people feel confident and supported as they age. Whether someone is looking for information, connection, or practical tools that make daily life easier, Thryve aims to provide guidance and opportunities that empower individuals to live with purpose, well-being, and independence.
As the needs of our aging population continue to evolve, Thryve remains committed to growing alongside the community, offering older adults and their families a welcoming place they can continue to call home.
THE EVOLUTION OF DOJO KARATE: 25 YEARS OF DEDICATION IN ELK RIVER
The evolution of Dojo Karate: 25 years of dedication in Elk River
For the past 25 years, Dojo Karate has been an integral part of the Elk River community, shaping the lives of students through discipline, respect, and perseverance.
What began as a single location with a vision to provide high-quality martial arts instruction has flourished into a thriving organization with 10 locations, each dedicated to empowering students of all ages.
This milestone is not just a celebration of longevity, but a testament to the impact karate has had on individuals and families throughout the years. Since our inception, Dojo Karate has stood for more than just teaching punches and kicks. Our mission has always been to instill core values— self-discipline, confidence, and leadership— that extend beyond the dojo and into everyday life.
Parents have entrusted us with their children, knowing that karate fosters both physical and mental strength. Many students who first stepped onto our mats as children have grown into successful adults, carrying the lessons they learned in the dojo into their personal and professional lives.
Over the years, we have witnessed the evolution of martial arts training, incorporating modern teaching methods while maintaining the integrity of traditional karate.
The way we train, mentor, and inspire students has adapted to the needs of our growing community.
Our expansion to 10 locations is a direct reflection of the demand for a positive, structured environment where students can thrive. This growth has also allowed us to reach more families, reinforcing the values that have made Dojo Karate a pillar of Elk River and beyond.
Reaching this 25-year milestone is not just about looking back— it’ s about looking forward. We remain committed to strengthening our programs, enhancing our training, and continuing to support the personal development of each student who walks through our doors.
Our journey has been defined by passion, perseverance, and the unwavering belief that martial arts is a powerful tool for transformation.
To all our students, families, and the Elk River community— thank you for being part of this journey. Here’ s to 25 years of excellence, and to many more years of growth, leadership, and martial arts mastery.
