1. Highlight your involvement in high school classes and extra-curricular activities this past year. During this past year, they were involved in several challenging high school classes, including two AP classes and one PLTW class. These courses required significant effort and dedication, helping them grow academically by strengthening their critical thinking and time management skills. Outside of school, they worked regularly at their job, which served as their main extracurricular commitment. Balancing schoolwork and employment taught them responsibility, independence, and effective time management.
2. What was your most memorable high school experience? Why was it special?
One of the most memorable high school experiences was homecoming week, at a typical high school where the entire student body came together in a rare moment of shared excitement Throughout the week, students participated in spirit days, decorated the hallways in their class colors, and joined in friendly competitions that built school pride. The pep rally was especially energetic, with performances from student groups and loud cheering that filled the gym and brought everyone into the spirit of the event. At the homecoming
/ ER Yellow Ribbon game, the stands were packed with students, teachers, and families, all cheering for the team as one community. In that moment, the usual cliques and differences felt less important, and the school felt unified, making the experience stand out as something exciting and memorable in a typical high school setting.
3. What are your plans for the future?
One of the student’ s future goals is to become a veterinarian, a career inspired by a strong interest in animals and their health. They plan to attend the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where they hope to study a field such as animal science or biology to build a solid foundation for veterinary school. At the university, they aim to take advantage of research opportunities, internships, and hands-on experiences with animals to better understand medical care and treatment. After completing their undergraduate studies, they plan to apply to veterinary school and eventually become a licensed veterinarian. Their long-term goal is to work in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital, helping diagnose and treat animals while making a positive impact on their health and well-being.
